To make life a little easier for you, we've compiled this list of Frequently Asked Questions. Check here for a solution to your problem first. Of course, if you can't find a fast answer, call us or email us at info@caribbeansecurity.com.

How do I switch to Caribbean Security from my present monitoring company? Just call us and ask for a sales representative, or send an email to info@caribbeansecurity.com. Sometimes switching service requires some new equipment installation, but we'll have a look at your present system and discuss any costs with you beforehand. Caribbean Security provides only ULC Certified products and Burglary and Fire Alarm Monitoring.

What does Caribbean Security's monitoring station do? Our monitoring station acts as the liaison between your alarm system and local authorities like police and fire. If an alarm is triggered, a monitoring station operator will act immediately, calling the alarm premise to verify the alarm before dispatching. The type of central station monitoring service offered is very significant. Only a company which offers U. L. listed, dedicated central station monitoring is worthy of your consideration. While this level is not always available, whenever possible, it should be your choice. See our "Monitoring" page for more information.

Alarms Monitored At Sales Office/Owners Home Alarms monitored at the sales office by the secretary during the work day and monitored at the alarm company owner's home nights and weekends is a program offered by some alarm company owners. In other words, you are paying a monthly charge and your system is not being monitored.

Can I install my new security system myself? We don't recommend installing it yourself. Today's alarm systems require extensive programming, most of which can be customized to your particular application to make the system do exactly what you want and to make it as easy to use as possible. Alarm sensors have to be set up carefully so that they don't false alarm or worse yet, so that they don't fail to work when they're supposed to.

How long will it take to install my security system? That depends on what is specified for your business or residence. The average residential installation takes a day.

What happens if the power goes out at my home? Every Caribbean Security Limited security system has a rechargeable back-up battery in the main alarm panel. The system will continue to protect your home for several hours on battery power. When the power comes back on, the battery charges up again.

Is my security system easy to operate? You bet it is. Caribbean Security systems use simple commands and feature easy-to-read displays.

Your budget and your requirements must be considered carefully. Caribbean Security staff will only recommend systems that are best applied to your particular circumstances.

I have pets. Will they set off my interior motion sensor? Caribbean Security alarms are "smart". Systems can differentiate between intruders and animals for example.

What happens if I accidentally set off my alarm? Our Central Station will call to verify the alarm first. You provide the operator with the pre-arranged code messaging (a valid password). If this is not provided, the operator will dispatch the appropriate First Responder immediately. If fire, water or other equipment alarms are triggered, the 'no delay' alarm response protocol is initiated immediately. This also starts with a telephone call to the alarm premise.
